Kaufland reported 3,000 sellers on Kaufland.pl, many of them Polish, and 8 million products in more than 6,400 categories, against 45 million articles on Kaufland.de. Sellers using Poland as a channel achieved an average revenue increase of more than 15%, Kaufland said.
Kaufland also operates more than 250 stores in Poland, and its Kaufland.pl seller page puts brand awareness in Poland at 99% (Kaufland's own figure). The Polish storefront opened in the Kaufland Seller API on 8 April 2024, four months before the consumer launch.

Fees and vouchers in zloty
Kaufland bills the monthly basic fee in the currency of the storefront a seller picks to carry it: 175 zł (Basic) or 260 zł (Plus), plus VAT, on Kaufland.pl, or €39.95 and €59.95 on a euro storefront. One fee covers every storefront, so a seller already on Kaufland.de pays no second fee to add Kaufland.pl. The Plus plan's monthly Sponsored Product Ads credit is 130 zł in Poland. Vouchers on Kaufland.pl cost 2 zł per redemption for products up to 400 zł and 4 zł above 400 zł.
Prices, payments and payouts in Polish zloty
Every Kaufland.pl offer carries its own price in PLN, because Kaufland manages offers per storefront; the Seller API takes the price in grosze and caps one offer at 4.5 million PLN. Kaufland collects payment from Polish customers in zloty across all payment methods and, according to its payment page, releases revenue 14 days after delivery, or 21 days after dispatch without a tracking number; an open customer ticket pauses that clock.
Kaufland pays out in the local currency of each sales channel, to the bank account entered for that channel. Poland and the Czech Republic are the two storefronts where a seller can instead pay out the balance in euros, with an estimated euro amount shown in the Seller Portal under Accounting. Kaufland's help page publishes no exchange rate or conversion fee and refers to section 8.6 of its Payment Services Framework Agreement, so check that clause before switching.
Polish language and consumer rules
Kaufland requires product data, customer communication and legal texts in Polish for Kaufland.pl, with the legal texts adapted to Polish law, according to its seller requirements. Kaufland offers free translation of product data, customer tickets and legal texts in the Seller Portal, and includes first-level customer support in Polish.
Article 7a of the Polish Language Act requires Polish for product names, offers, warranty terms, invoices, consumer warnings, user instructions and product information, including advertising; pictogram-only warnings and instructions are exempt. Instructions and warranty terms in the box therefore need a Polish version too, and UOKiK, the consumer protection office, and the Trade Inspection enforce the rule.
Polish consumers can withdraw from an online purchase within 14 days under Article 27 of the Consumer Rights Act. Article 7aa extends the withdrawal and conformity rules to sole traders buying outside their registered professional activity, so Kaufland.pl sellers should expect consumer-style returns from some business buyers.
Shipping to Polish customers
Kaufland Shipment Solutions (KSS) covers Poland: sellers can buy GLS labels for parcels up to 40 kg from a warehouse in Germany to Polish customers, with return labels from Poland back to Germany only. KSS does not start from other countries, so a seller shipping from the Netherlands or Poland books its own carrier.
Kaufland.pl supports delivery to parcel lockers and parcel shops with DHL, InPost, GLS and DPD, according to Kaufland's shipping settings page (updated 11 September 2026); InPost is available on Kaufland.pl only. Sellers can set a separate, usually lower, price for locker delivery.
Kaufland counts Kaufland.pl delivery time in working days, excluding Saturdays and Polish public holidays. Kaufland lists 12 Polish public holidays for 2026; the remaining ones are 1 November, 11 November and 24, 25 and 26 December. German holidays do not extend delivery windows on a foreign storefront, so a seller in Germany adjusts its handling time manually. Kaufland recommends a delivery window span of at most 3 days for windows under 10 days and expects at least 80% of shipments to be trackable. Our Kaufland fulfilment guide covers 3PL and KSS set-ups.
Polish VAT on Kaufland.pl sales
Sales to customers in Poland carry Polish VAT: 23% standard, with reduced rates of 8% and 5%, according to Poland's Ministry of Finance. Kaufland asks EU sellers for an OSS number or a Polish VAT ID, and sellers from outside the EU must register for VAT in Poland.
For a seller established in one other EU member state, sales to Polish consumers are taxed in Poland once its cross-border sales to EU consumers pass EUR 10,000 a year, and can be declared through the EU One Stop Shop (OSS). Shipping from stock held in Poland is a domestic supply that goes on a Polish VAT return, so storing stock in Poland can require a Polish VAT registration. Specific questions belong with a tax adviser.
EPR in Poland: the BDO number Kaufland checks
Kaufland makes a packaging registration number mandatory for selling on Kaufland.pl, as on Kaufland.de and Kaufland.fr, while Kaufland.cz, Kaufland.sk, Kaufland.at, Kaufland.it and Kaufland.nl currently ask for none. The rule also applies in Kaufland's deemed supplier model. Sellers of batteries need a battery registration number for Poland, other streams depend on the product, and Kaufland asks for the BDO number on invoices to Polish customers.
These numbers come from BDO, Poland's register for products, packaging and waste. A foreign company without a Polish branch applies in writing to the Marshal of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship, according to the official BDO site. Since 12 August 2026, the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation also requires a producer selling packaged goods at a distance into another member state to appoint an authorised representative there. Our Poland BDO guide covers fees, reporting and representation.
Kaufland.pl next to Allegro and Amazon.pl
Allegro, which calls itself Poland's most popular marketplace, reported 15.6 million active buyers in Poland and Polish gross merchandise value of PLN 18.5 billion in the second quarter of 2026, up 12.0% year on year, in its Q2 2026 results. Amazon opened Amazon.pl on 2 March 2021 with more than 100 million products. Kaufland's figures (up to 3 million visitors a month, 8 million products) measure different things from Allegro's buyer count, so they are not directly comparable.
Gerald Schönbucher, a board member of Kaufland e-commerce, described the Polish marketplace landscape in September 2025 as significantly more competitive than the Austrian one, with the goal of becoming one of Poland's largest online marketplaces in the coming years. The market is still growing: internet sales were 9.0% of retail sales in August 2026, up from 8.1% a year earlier, according to Statistics Poland (GUS), and 69.7% of Poles aged 16 to 74 bought online in its 2025 survey. Our guides to Allegro and Amazon.pl cover the two larger channels.
What is the same on every Kaufland storefront
Apart from the zloty prices and the lower commission band, Kaufland.pl runs on the same account, Seller Portal and performance rules as the other seven storefronts. Kaufland ended Fulfilment by Kaufland on 28 February 2025, so Polish orders ship from the seller's own stock or a logistics partner, and customer tickets must be answered within 48 hours. Registration and plans are in our Kaufland hub guide, and the directory entry is Kaufland Poland.
