By Operator One Editorial, 5 October 2026

To sell on Kaufland Czech Republic, you activate Kaufland.cz in your Kaufland Global Marketplace account, publish Czech-language offers priced in Czech koruna (CZK) and ship every order to Czech buyers yourself. Kaufland.cz has been live since 12 April 2023, charges 7% to 16% commission plus a basic fee of 990 Kč or 1,500 Kč a month, and pays out in CZK or, on request, in euros. The country-specific work is Czech VAT, Czech EPR registrations and delivery to the pick-up points Czech shoppers prefer.

Key takeaways

  • Kaufland.cz went live on 12 April 2023, about a month before Allegro launched allegro.cz in May 2023, and Kaufland reports up to 5.5 million visitors a month and 4,700 sellers on Kaufland.cz (July 2026).
  • Kaufland.cz runs in Czech koruna: the basic fee is 990 Kč (Basic) or 1,500 Kč (Plus) a month plus VAT, and the Media surcharge is 18 Kč per item.
  • Kaufland.cz commission runs from 7% (computers, consumer electronics) to 16% (jewellery), the same rates as Kaufland.de, calculated on the gross price including delivery.
  • Kaufland pays Kaufland.cz revenue in CZK by default, and the Czech Republic and Poland are the only storefronts where a seller can choose a euro payout instead.
  • Czech VAT has been 21% standard and 12% reduced since 1 January 2024, and Kaufland.cz requires either a Czech VAT ID or an OSS registration for that channel.
  • Kaufland.cz asks for no EPR numbers at sign-up, but Kaufland tells Kaufland.cz sellers to join EKO-KOM for packaging and to complete Czech WEEE and battery registrations before selling.
  • Kaufland.cz supports five pick-up carriers (DHL, Packeta, GLS, DPD and Czech Post), and a parcel for a Packeta Z-BOX can be at most 45 x 36 x 61 cm and 5 kg.

Kaufland.cz in numbers: launch, traffic and sellers

Kaufland opened Kaufland.cz on 12 April 2023, eight weeks after Kaufland.sk. Kaufland's launch press release of 28 March 2023 counted more than 2,000 pre-registered sellers for Kaufland.cz. In October 2023 Kaufland reported about 4,000 sellers and more than five million items on Kaufland.cz, with around a quarter of the sellers based in the Czech Republic.

Kaufland's current Kaufland.cz seller page (updated July 2026) gives up to 5.5 million visitors a month and 4,700 sellers. With around three in four Kaufland.cz sellers based abroad in 2023, selling cross-border into Kaufland.cz is the normal case.

Czech shoppers buy online more than the EU average. According to Eurostat, in 2025, 83.7% of Czechs aged 16 to 74 had bought something online in the previous 12 months, against 73.6% across the EU, and 75.4% had done so in the previous three months. Kaufland's Kaufland.cz page puts the average Czech online order at 1,677 CZK (about €70) and notes that Czechs prefer delivery to pick-up points and parcel boxes over home delivery.

How Kaufland.cz compares with Allegro and Alza

Kaufland.cz, Allegro.cz and Alza differ most in who sells to the shopper. On Kaufland.cz and Allegro.cz the third-party seller is the seller of record. Under the AlzaTrade terms (26 July 2023), the supplier sells goods to Alza.cz a.s., which then sells them to the shopper.

Pricing in Czech koruna: fees, conversion and payouts

Every amount on Kaufland.cz is in Czech koruna. Kaufland's shipping settings guide says shipping costs must be shown in the national currency of the sales channel, "for Kaufland.cz in Czech crowns". Kaufland publishes fixed koruna amounts for its own charges:

  • Basic fee: 990 Kč (Basic) or 1,500 Kč (Plus) a month plus VAT, debited in CZK when the seller chooses Kaufland.cz as the channel that pays the fee.
  • Ad credit: the Plus plan includes 750 Kč of Sponsored Product Ads credit a month.
  • Media surcharge: 13% plus 18 Kč per item for books, CDs, DVDs and vinyl.
  • Vouchers: 12 Kč per redemption on products up to 2,500 Kč and 24 Kč above 2,500 Kč.
  • Returns: the seller pays return shipping when the item price exceeds 990 CZK.

Moving a euro catalogue onto Kaufland.cz needs no manual price list: Kaufland's Transfer inventory tool copies offers between storefronts, converts prices "based on the current exchange rate shown" when currencies differ, and lets you raise or lower Czech prices by a percentage or a fixed amount.

Kaufland pays Kaufland.cz revenue in CZK unless you opt for euros. Kaufland's payment guide says sellers on the Czech and Polish channels can take their balance in euros instead, with an estimated euro amount shown under Accounting, then Payout. Bank details are entered per sales channel. Kaufland releases revenue 14 days after delivery (by tracking number) or 21 days after the order is marked as shipped without tracking.

Czech listings, legal texts and consumer rules

Kaufland.cz requires product data, legal texts and customer communication in Czech. Kaufland offers free product data translation and a free DeepL-based translation of legal texts (terms, cancellation policy, privacy policy, legal notice), which you should review before publishing. On Kaufland.cz, the customer's telephone number is requested for every order, whatever the shipping method.

Czech consumer law adds two set-up points. The Czech Trade Inspection Authority (ČOI) states that product instructions must be in Czech and in written form where the product needs them (§9 and §11 of Act No. 634/1992 Coll.). Czech buyers can withdraw from an online purchase within 14 days of receiving the goods, and if the seller fails to explain that right, ČOI notes the period can extend to one year and 14 days (§1829 of the Civil Code). Kaufland's default return period of 14 days matches the statutory minimum.

Czech VAT on Kaufland.cz: OSS or a Czech VAT ID

Czech VAT has two rates: 21% standard and 12% reduced. The Czech General Financial Directorate confirms that from 1 January 2024 the 10% rate was abolished and the 15% rate replaced by a single 12% rate (Act No. 349/2023 Coll.). Kaufland's VAT indicator table for offers uses 21% and 12%, but its separate Seller University tax rates page still lists the old 15% and 10% rates, so enter 12% for reduced-rate goods. If no rate is entered, Kaufland applies the channel's standard rate.

Kaufland validates tax data before Kaufland.cz offers go live: its VAT ID validation guide requires the VAT ID of your head office plus, for Kaufland.cz, either a Czech VAT ID or (for EU sellers) an OSS registration; non-EU sellers need a Czech tax registration. Kaufland checks numbers through VIES and Germany's Federal Central Tax Office and hides the channel if validation fails.

The EU distance-selling threshold is EUR 10,000 a year across all member states combined; above it, Czech VAT applies to sales shipped to Czech consumers and can be declared through OSS. Storing stock in the Czech Republic can require a Czech VAT registration.

EPR for Kaufland.cz: EKO-KOM, WEEE and batteries

Kaufland.cz does not check EPR numbers at sign-up. Kaufland's registration page states: "Currently, you are not required to enter EPR information to sell on Kaufland.cz", while packaging numbers are mandatory on Kaufland.de, Kaufland.pl and Kaufland.fr. The Czech obligations still apply. Kaufland's EPR guidance tells Kaufland.cz sellers that:

  • Packaging: since 1 July 2022, online sellers placing packaging on the Czech market must register with EKO-KOM, which handles licensing and data reporting.
  • WEEE: sellers of electrical and electronic equipment must register before placing goods on the Czech market; sellers without a Czech branch do this through a Czech authorised representative or a collective system.
  • Batteries: since 2023, battery sellers must register with the Czech Ministry of the Environment before selling, again through a representative or collective system if they have no Czech branch.
  • Take-back: sellers of electrical goods must offer customers free take-back of old devices via Kaufland.cz.

Kaufland's own EPR Service (€1.90 per category a month) covers only France, Italy and Spain, so Kaufland.cz sellers arrange Czech registrations themselves. Our Czech Republic and Slovakia EPR guide covers the thresholds, deadlines and the PPWR changes from 12 August 2026.

Shipping to Czech buyers: pick-up points, KSS and holidays

Kaufland.cz supports more pick-up carriers than any other Kaufland storefront: DHL, Packeta, GLS, DPD and, since 17 April 2026, Czech Post, which Kaufland supports on Kaufland.cz only. Packeta, also available on Kaufland.sk, takes parcels up to 45 x 36 x 61 cm and 5 kg in its Z-BOXes, and up to 10 kg (length plus width plus height of 150 cm or less, longest side at most 120 cm) at its pick-up points. Kaufland asks you to split offers into shipping groups by parcel size.

Kaufland Shipment Solutions (KSS) covers the Czech Republic from Germany only. Kaufland's KSS documentation lists GLS labels from Germany to the Czech Republic for parcels up to 40 kg (standard size 120 x 80 x 60 cm), collected from a German address or dropped at a German GLS point, with return labels only back to Germany.

Kaufland measures Kaufland.cz delivery against Czech public holidays, not German ones. Kaufland's holiday guide lists 13 Czech public holidays for 2026, such as Czech Statehood Day on 28 September, which extend Kaufland.cz delivery windows. German-only holidays such as Ascension (14 May 2026) do not, so sellers shipping from Germany adjust Kaufland.cz handling times manually.

What is the same on every Kaufland storefront

Kaufland.cz is switched on inside the same Kaufland Global Marketplace account as the other seven storefronts, at no cost beyond the basic fee, and every product still needs an EAN. Since Fulfilment by Kaufland closed on 28 February 2025, Czech orders leave from the seller's own warehouse or a 3PL, and Czech-language tickets need an answer within 48 hours. Onboarding and plans are in our Kaufland Global Marketplace guide.
